Jonathan is a psychedelic rock guitarist, vocalist, composer and producer from Birmingham, England. He started playing guitar at age 12, and received his first electric guitar at age 13. Vastly self-taught, including learning to sing, by age 14 he was already writing songs prolifically.

Forming his first band, White Funeral Facade at 18 with friends landed Jonathan a handful of local gigs, and a track on Kidderminster College's compilation CD MAS Records 2. The patron of the label is Robert Plant.

After the band stopped playing, a couple years later, using a cassette boombox for recording ideas became a thing of the past when Jonathan finally began using software to record. The following years produced much experimentation, including with analog tape, and with him eventually coming to use other instruments including synthesizers, hand percussion, and electronic tanpura. Some of these were featured in his solo acoustic shows under the name Humming in the Night Skull, which was active for a few years from 2009. Recording in his home spaces, and with cassettes of ideas left over from his teenage years Jonathan used some of the ideas for recording projects before finally starting to write and record music more seriously, releasing it independently under his own name in Autumn 2013 starting with his album Midnight Luminous.

Briefly working with American label Custom Made Music in 2015 for a cassette release of his EP The Clearing Mist, and then in 2016, shortly after the release (via Bandcamp) of his Protégé EP, Jonathan accepted an offer from, and signed with Duo Box Records. He released, commercially, two EPs and a single with Duo Box Records' subsidary label Kundry Music. Those releases are available for listening on most digital music streaming services.

Then, in 2018, Jonathan decided to stop working with Duo Box Records, feeling dissatisfied with the collaboration, despite still having an "open" type of contract with them and started to release his music independently via the online publisher TuneCore. The first release via TuneCore was in April 2018, and the most recent release was a single in November of 2019.

Jonathan's most recent full length album, Ashen Light, which was produced from a long, connected stream of cohesive jamming, writing, and producing sessions (like Midnight Luminous, and Primordial Buddha were) saw a commercial release in September of 2018. Ashen Light was originally completed in February of 2015 but received a remix in the Summer of 2017, and was lightly mastered for the commercial release in September of 2018.

There is currently no completely "set in stone" follow up to Ashen Light due, even years later, but Jonathan has posted on social media at the end of 2019 that it is a goal of his to work towards producing a new album, possibly for 2020.

And finally, in addition, as revealed before, but only in a more brief way, this time more intimately, many of Jonathan's influences for his music don't come from other music. They can come from films, poetry, photography, and especially from his study of philosophies and his spiritual and metaphysical experiences and progress.
